October is Home Energy Action Month and Snugg Home is partnering with the U.S. Department of Energy to inform homeowners about the benefits of the Home Energy Score.
What is the Home Energy Score?
The U.S. Department of Energy’s Home Energy Score assesses the energy efficiency of a home based on its structure and heating, cooling, and hot water systems.
The Home Energy Score is similar to a miles-per-gallon rating on a car. Homes are scored on a scale of 1 to 10, with 10 being the most efficient and 1 being the least efficient. This helps homeowners and prospective homebuyers to understand a home's energy efficiency compared to homes nationwide, regardless of location and occupancy.
