When recommending heat pumps:

On the Snugg app, you must indicate both the heating and cooling sides for heat pumps, you cannot recommend only one side.

The app will kick back the heating (for example) to declined if the cooling is not also recommended. The heating and cooling portions of the heat pump are not separate like a furnace ac system.

You can split the cost of between the heating and cooling if needed.

Inverter heat pumps

Units that have a variable-speed inverter or compressor have a refrigerant cycle that operates at various speeds which are determined by heating load or temperature.

The inverter eliminates energy losses caused by repeated starts and stops by adjusting the refrigerant speed automatically.

An inverter-driven variable speed compressor allows your heat pump to operate within the full range between 0 and 100% efficiency.

  • Heating
    Convert the COP to HSPF:
    Use the estimated COP of the Geo system and multiply that times 3.412
    Example: a COP of 4.7 x 3.412 equals 16 HSPF

  • Cooling
    Convert the EER to SEER
    Use the estimated EER and divide by 0.875
    Example: a EER of 32 / 0.875 equals 36.5 SEER
