Vault and Slope Calculations
Updated over a week ago

If you have both attic(s) and vault(s) be sure to use the percentage table to help the system determine the correct square footage for each.

A vault selection may be used for any situation where there is a cavity for insulation instead of an attic floor. Including flat roofs, or if you are insulating the slopes instead of the attic floor. See this article for some examples.

When you select a vaulted ceiling in Snugg Pro, the slopes are automatically calculated for you by the slope of the roof, in relation to the width of the home, which you will see in the total sqft for the vault field.

If you need to adjust the modeled vault area, please use the chart below as reference. For example a flat roof with no pitch would only refer to the footprint of the space. But a roof pitch of 3:12 would add an additional 31 sqft for the slopes of this 1,000 sqft footprint.

You don't have the option to put the roof pitch number into the app, but you can adjust the total vault area by hand.
